As mentioned, Gautam Gambhir has turned politician, in 2019 he contested in the general elections from East Delhi for the Bhartiya Janta Party. Although he is a good Lok Sabha member and politician, people across India recognize him as a champion cricketer who helped India in winning two ICC trophies and many tournaments. In 2007, Gautam Gambhir played a match-winning inning in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup against Pakistan, and in 2011 he played an inning of 97 runs against Sri Lanka in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup, which was much more precious than a ton as it led India to win the trophy after 28 years.

Gautam Gambhir was born on October 14, 1981, in Delhi. He hails from a Delhi-based business family. Gautam is a former student of Delhi University. He joined the Indian Cricket Team in 2003 and remained an integral part of the team till 2016. He played his last test match against England on November 9, 2016. However, he made his test debut on November 3, 2004 against Australia. Kindly note that Gautam Gambhir had played an ODI match before he marked his Test debut.

On April 11, 2003, Gautam Gambhir played his first international ODI match against Scotland. His last ODI match was against England which he played on January 27, 2013. In his 13-year-long cricket career, Gautam Gambhir played a total of 58 Test matches, 147 ODI matches, and 37 T20I matches, in which he scored 4154, 5238, and 932 runs respectively. Talking about his best scores, 206 in the Test, 150 not out in the ODI, and 75 in the T20I. His career ended with 9 centuries in Tests, 11 hundred in ODIs, and many precious innings that helped India in scripting history.
