The marquee clash of the ICC World Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where more than 120,000 people visited to watch the iconic clash. Although Pakistan could not challenge India throughout the match India convincingly won the match to extend their record of remaining unbeaten against Pakistan. After the 14th October match, it has become 8-0 between India and Pakistan in the ICC World Cup.

Several videos on the internet are going viral on social media showing cricket fans at Narendra Modi Stadium chanting religious-centric taunts at the Pakistani cricketers while they move toward the pavilion. Meanwhile, PCB quickly filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council and voiced discontent over the delays in visa approvals for Pakistani journalists to visit India to cover the World Cup. As per ESPN, the Pakistan Cricket Board stated, “The PCB is extremely disappointed to see that journalists from Pakistan and fans are still facing uncertainty about obtaining an Indian visa to cover Pakistan games in ICC World Cup 2023,” Regarding inappropriate behavior of fans at the Pakistani team on Oct 14, PCB filed another complaint with ICC, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023. The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023.”
