Team India made it 8-0 against Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Skipper Rohit Sharma’s inning was fireworks for the fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium as he helped India chase down 192-target in 30.3 overs. Shreyas Iyer’s sensible fifty was also commendable. However, it was India’s bowling department that led the team to dominate in the high-voltage clash.
Not to mention, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Kuldeep Yadav were exceptional. All the bowlers secured two wickets each barring Shardul Thakur. For Pakistan, skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were the only batsmen who showed courage to fight in the high-voltage clash but the middle order of the opposition collapsed from 155/2 to 191 all out. Pakistan drastically lost 8 wickets for 36 runs setting the visitors behind in the match despite a good partnership between Babar and Rizwan, the two most important batsmen of Pakistan.
In response to Team India’s ruthless bowling spell, Pakistani bowlers could only send three batsmen of Team India back to the pavilion as India won the match by 7 wickets. When skipper Rohit Sharma got out, it was a cakewalk for Team India to complete the run chase. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul played sensible cricket and helped the team to win without any thrill. Iyer also needs special appreciation as he did not lead down the team who showed in him for playing at Number 4 in the World Cup. Now India has 8 wins against Pakistan in the ICC World Cup.
