The final match of the Cricket World Cup will be played between Australia and India on November 19, 2023. India made it to the final after defeating the Kiwis in the first Semi-Final while Australia became the second finalist after defeating the Proteas in a nail-biting contest. For India, Mohammed Shami has been the most successful bowler in the tournament. He cracked a total of 23 wickets in just 6 matches with a breathtaking bowling average of 9.13.
Mohammed Shami’s sensational and best bowling figure of the tournament and best by any Indian bowler in the history of the ICC World Cup, came in 1st Semi Final against New Zealand, when he sent more than half of the team back to the pavilion on his own power. The second highest-wicket-taker of the tournament is Australia’s spinner Adam Zampa who surpassed Brad Hogg’s previous record of 21 wickets at the 2007 tournament which was played in West Indies.
Dilshan Madushanka, a Sri Lankan fast bowler, is in third place with 21 wickets but Sri Lanka has been knocked out of the tournament, that means Adam Zampa can emerge as the highest-wicket-taker of the tournament if he performs exceptionally well against India.
